About Us

Rachael and Eric Hull
With over two decades of classroom experience, we understand the daily demands of teaching literacy in the early grades. Our time in the classroom shaped how we build resources: they need to be flexible, low-prep, and ready to support the way you already teach.

Together, we created Teaching Firsties and Literacy Stations to share tools that help K–2 teachers implement effective literacy routines—without the overwhelm. Whether you’re working on small groups, independent stations, writing centers, or fluency instruction, our goal is to give you practical solutions that save time and make instruction stronger.

Teaching Firsties
This is where it all started: a blog designed to give classroom-tested ideas to first grade teachers. Here, we focus on literacy instruction, classroom organization, and how to bring technology into your routines in a way that actually works.

Each article is written with real classrooms in mind. From setting up stations to teaching comprehension strategies, our goal is to support you with clear, useful strategies that build confidence and consistency.

Literacy Stations
Literacy Stations is the resource library built to match what teachers told us they needed most:

  • No-prep and low-prep activities
  • Consistent formatting for student independence
  • Materials that support small group instruction and centers
  • Resources that support differentiation and scaffolding—with options for a range of writing and reading levels
  • Printable and digital options—Google Slides and Boom Cards included

We also offer a membership model because we know how quickly your instructional needs shift. With one flat monthly price, you can download what you need, when you need it, and get back to what matters: working with your students.

How We Do It
We know that good teaching doesn’t require flashy programs or complicated prep. It requires consistency, structure, and resources that work. That’s what we’re here to provide—along with the occasional real-world story and a few laughs when we need them most.

We’re glad you’re here.
